To reflect the wide range of franchise businesses in Western Australia and to enable franchise systems and suppliers to be rated against their peers in their class, the FranchisingWA Industry Awards have three sections and 18 categories.

Eligibility Criteria

The 2025 Franchise Industry Awards Western Australia are open to all Australian Franchise Businesses and Supplier Businesses that operate in Western Australia. The Awards Night will recognise the highest level of Franchising throughout Western Australia and will highlight best practices within the industry.

Franchisee Awards

These 11 categories are open to all franchisees operating in Western Australia for a minimum of 6 months prior to 1 June 2025. The criteria will be judged by our esteemed panel, and the Gold Winner for each category will be announced at the Gala Awards Ceremony.

There are 10 to 12 questions per category, and we estimate that it will take around half a day to complete your application. The questions focus on your franchise business operations, achievements, successes, team, and your journey to get to where you are today.

The Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year is open to all Franchisees that own more than one unit, territory, site, location, region or store of the same brand. To qualify, the Franchisee has to have at least two (2) operating units for at least 12 months prior to the 1 June 2025. All units must be operating within Western Australia.

People’s Awards

These four (4) prestigious categories represent the highest achievers who not only inspire us within our franchise system but have dedicated their lives to assisting others. Without them, our business would not be as successful as it is today.

WA WIF Woman of the Year – This category is open to all Western Australian Women in Franchising. This may include employees, Franchisors, Franchisees, Suppliers and aspiring entrepreneurs within Western Australia. This award will recognize leadership and personal achievement during the past year. To qualify for this award, you must be in your organization for at least 12 months prior to 1 June 2025.

WA Field/Business Manager of the Year – This award is for the Field Service Representative that has shown outstanding achievement in developing their people, the franchisees. This award is open to all Franchise Field Managers and Business Development Managers where your main role is to support and look after Franchisees on a day-to-day basis. To be eligible for this award you must be in your role for at least 12 months prior to 1 June 2025.

WA Franchise Store Manager of the Year – This award is for the WA Store Manager who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and innovation in managing their store and driving its success. This award is open to all Store Managers who consistently excel in delivering outstanding customer service, fostering a positive work environment, and achieving operational excellence. To be eligible for this award, you must have been in your role for at least 12 months prior to 1 June 2025.

WA Franchise Apprentice of the Year – This award is for the WA Apprentice who has shown exceptional commitment, skill development, and a strong work ethic throughout their training. This award is open to all apprentices, including but not limited to plumbing, hairdressing, mechanical and electrical apprentices, who have demonstrated outstanding progress, a positive attitude, and a dedication to learning within their role. To be eligible for this award, you must have been in your apprenticeship for at least 6 months prior to 1 June 2025.

Franchisor / Supplier Awards

The Franchisor / Supplier of the Year Awards represent the highest honour in franchising in Western Australia.

Best Emerging Franchise System – Our definition of an “emerging franchise” is a brand that has established a total of between one and ten locations in WA. This category is open to all new and upcoming Franchise Systems that are based in Western Australia that have commenced franchising in the last 2 years prior to 1 June 2025 and have at least 2 franchisees currently operating.

As part of the application for this award, all WA franchisees must undertake the ‘WA Franchisee Satisfaction Survey’. Franchisees must complete the 15-minute survey online and must submit their responses within the specified time.

The winner of this prestigious award will be watched by many who will look to emulate the great things you have done and seek your advice on how to avoid some of the pitfalls you have encountered along the way.

Supplier of the Year – This award is open for all franchise industry suppliers that have a presence in Western Australia. You must be an organization or company that supplies goods and or services to the Western Australian franchise industry. The category includes all legal, accounting, shopfitters, bakeries, soft drinks, manufacturer, packaging and alike.


WA Franchisor of the Year: 3-10 Franchisees

This award is open to all Australian Franchise Systems that have operations in Western Australia. To be eligible for this award the Franchise System will:

  • Be based in Western Australia; or
  • Based in Australia; and
  • That have been trading in Western Australia for at least 2 years; and,
  • Have at least 3 franchisees operating in Western Australia.

Only one (1) entry per brand will be accepted. As part of the application for this award, all WA franchisees must undertake the ‘WA Franchisee Satisfaction Survey’. Franchisees must complete the 15-minute survey online and must submit their responses within the specified time.

WA Franchisor of the Year: 11+ Franchisees

This award is open to all Australian Franchise Systems that have operations in Western Australia. To be eligible for this award the Franchise System will:

  • Be based in Western Australia; or
  • Based in Australia; and
  • That have been trading in Western Australia for at least 2 years; and,
  • Have at least 11 franchisees operating in Western Australia.

Only one (1) entry per brand will be accepted. As part of the application for this award, at least 11 WA franchisees must undertake the ‘WA Franchisee Satisfaction Survey’. Franchisees must complete the 15-minute survey online and must submit their responses within the specified time.

The ‘Iron Ore Award’ symbolises the epitome of franchising in Western Australia. We will be ‘Recognising Outstanding Achievement’ in the highest honour. This award is open to franchise systems that demonstrate best practices in franchising within Western Australia. The brand will showcase a continuous pursuit of excellence in operations and in its people.

The Iron Ore Award will be presented to the overall Western Australian Franchisor of the Year from the two categories of franchise systems mentioned above.

Franchisor Entry

Winners are determined based on franchisee assessments, with a weighting given for a higher response rate. The prestigious FranchisingWA Award is awarded to a Gold winner in each of the two Franchisor categories.

Results are calculated from the franchisees’ assessments, and a weighting is given for a higher response rate. Winners are chosen for each of the two categories. Scoring is based on a scale of 1 to 10, providing a detailed assessment to enhance the value and accuracy of determining the winners.
