Eligibility Criteria
The FranchisingWA 2023 Industry Awards are open to Westralian Franchise Businesses that operate in Western Australia. The night will recognise the highest level of Franchising in throughout Western Australia and will highlight Best Practice amongst the industry.
Franchisee Awards
These 8 award categories are open to Franchisee Business that operate thought Western Australia. The criteria will be judged by our esteemed judging panel, and we will announce the Gold Winner for each category at the Gala Awards Ceremony.
People’s Award
These three categories represent the highest achievers that not only inspire us in our franchise system but have dedicated their way of life to assisting others. Without them our business would not be as successful as it is today.
WA WIF Woman of the Year – in open to all Women Franchisees, employees, staff and anyone who has made a positive impression on your organization. They must have at least 12 months industry experience.
WA Field /Business Manager of the Year This award if for the Field Service representative that has shown outstanding achievement in developing their people, the franchises. The countless hours and large amounts of Frequent Flyer Points often go unrecognized. The dedication to their craft will be recognized on the night. This category in open to all WA Based Field Service / Business Development Manages that look after Franchisees or Company Operations.
Best Emerging Franchise System This category is open to all new and upcoming Franchise Systems that are based in Western Australia that have commenced Franchising in the last 2 years with at least 2 Franchisees currently operating. The winner of this prestigious award will be watched by many as they look to emulate some of the great things that you have done and look to you for advice on how to avoid some of the pitfall you have encountered along the way.
Contribution
Supplier of the Year This award is open for all Franchise Industry Suppliers that have a presence in Western Australia. You must be an organization or company that supplies goods and or services to the Western Australian Franchise industry. The category includes all legal, accounting, shopfitters, bakeries, soft drinks, manufacturer, packaging and alike.
WA Franchisor of the Year
Eligibility & Entry
The ‘Iron Ore’ award symbolises the epitome of franchising in Western Australia. We will be ‘Recognising Outstanding Achievement’ in the highest honour. This award is open to Franchise Systems:
- Based in Western Australia; or
- Based in Australia; and
- that have a been trading in Western Australia for at least 2 years.
- Have at least 3 Franchisees
- 3 - 10 Franchisees - 100% must participate
- 11+ Franchisees - at least 10 must participate
- One entry per brand
This award recognizes Best Practice in Franchising in Western Australia, the brand will demonstrate a continued search for excellence in operations and its people.
Award Categories
To reflect the wide range of franchise businesses in Western Australia and to enable franchise systems to be rated against their peers in their class, the Franchising WA Industry Awards for the Franchisor of the Year include four categories and in two types of franchise systems.
Survey participants fall into one of two categories based on type of system from Traditional Franchises (i.e. those with bricks and mortar locations) and Non-Traditional Franchises (i.e. mobile, home-based, etc.), then grouped based on number of franchisees:
Winners are determined from the franchisee’s assessments and a weighting is given for a higher response rate. The prestigious FranchisingWA Award, Recognising Outstanding Achievement Grand Prize is given to a Gold winner in the Traditional category and a Gold winner in the Non-Traditional category.

Results are calculated from the franchisees’ assessments, and a weighting is given for a higher response rate, winner for each of the four categories. Scoring is based on a scale of 1 to 10 to provide a granular assessment and to enhance the value and accuracy of determining a winner.
